Vacation time! On our way there we saw that the Brunson’s have their own furniture store.
Since we left Baton Rouge at around 10 pm we got to North Carolina in the morning and stopped in Hendersonville, NC on our way in.
The Hands On Children’s museum was a great start to the trip, they had a lot of fun
After all that fun we stopped at the coffee shop next door for coffee and donuts. We kind of looked like we were living out of our car.
Our rental house was the last house at the top of a long windy road (Cliffview Dr.)
A great house, very nice and scenic
We got there first but it wasn’t long before their pals Charlotte, Wendell and Harper showed up
The next morning they got to enjoy Mr. Jason’s famous Mickey Mouse pancakes together
It looked so fun even grownups tried to get in on this breakfast
After fueling up with pancakes we went to Catawba Falls for a hike
The kids loved throwing rocks into this creek
Then it was back onto the hiking trail
We got to this stopping point for some photos before turning around to head back
They laughed at Mr. John for wearing flip flops on a hike but they came in handy here for a nice refreshing walk in the creek
Then it was time to hit the city, this is something called the Wake Sculpture
Burial Beer Co. was our next stop and the best brewery we went to
They had this giant rock for the kids to jump off of
There was also this great van that you could sit in
After those people left we got to get in there
So much fun!
Back at home after a long day of activities
We got a fire going that night in the fire pit
The kids got to have a movie night watching Frozen 2
The next day the Dads took the kids out for pizza at Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria
These goofballs all under the table at the same time
Very good pizza
While we were having pizza the Moms were at the Biltmore estate
Looks like a nice little place
After pizza the Dads found a park for the kids called “Kenilworth Park” that looked like a fun place to check out
There was this giant slide which they were pretty impressed with
Plus there was this big hill for them to climb on
That night even though it was November 13th (and not the 14th) Daddy was surprised with his 40th birthday celebration!
This cake was great
The girls were getting a little tired and cranky by this point
Everybody got to wear these awesome temporary tattoos!
And this was so awesome, Mommy made this Jeopardy game, she even called Daddy’s friends to get ideas for trivia questions about him
Things got a little rambunctious after the game when a cake fight started
For our last full day there the next day the Moms took the kids to a park so that Dads could go and enjoy a couple of breweries
Then we all met up at Green Man Brewery
We had lots of fun at our last stop in town
Then it was time to head home, since it was such a long 10-hour drive we stopped at this fun park in Hoover, AL on our way
Another fun vacation in the books!
