Grandpa came to town with an ambitious project in mind, building a playhouse for the girls
The girls sitting on this pile of lumber that would become their playhouse
After spending Monday assembling walls and ceiling joists we finally got to start putting things together on Tuesday
Grandpa even got real windows for the playhouse
This is how we finished up for Tuesday
It was time for the big reveal
They really liked not having walls up yet so they could go in and out so easily
First meal in the new house
Then on Wednesday it was back to work, getting the rest of the walls done and getting the tar paper up on the roof (which was important since Hurricane Delta was coming that weekend)
On Thursday morning Grandpa needed to head home before the hurricane but couldn’t resist getting the door up and some of the trim
Not bad for 3 1/2 day’s work
After the hurricane passed over the weekend Mommy was able to start painting
Then Daddy got up on the roof to get the shingles put in
For a first time shingler it came out pretty good!
Slowly working on the finishing touches Daddy built a couple of steps to make it a little easier for the girls to get in
Then a few days later the porch railing
Ollie approves!
One of the last steps (other than a little more painting) was the window shutters
It came together pretty nicely!
Now with cooler weather coming in it’s time to sit back and appreciate all that hard work from Grandpa and Daddy
It was a good time for Grandpa to build this for you girls and to be able to do this with your daddy made it even more special. What a team they made! It warms our heart to know you will enjoy this playhouse for years to come.
I forgot to mention…your cousin Gabby painted you 2 benches for your front porch. You loved them so much you are using them in your big house instead! Gabby was very pleased to hear that❤️
