Ollie was so happy her pal Luke came by for a pizza party picnic
Then when it got dark they got to go exploring with flashlights
Baton Rouge General got in the Christmas spirit by bringing in real snow for the kids to play in
They also had all kinds of cool Christmas lights set up
This giant green present was so cool
And these Christmas trees had faces!
Evie had to hydrate after all that fun
We finally got a “star” for the top of the Christmas tree. Ollie picked out this huge snowflake at Hobby Lobby.
An annual tradition, Nanny Niki came by to decorate a gingerbread house with the girls
Evie had to take a taste of all the different decorations
Ollie did a good job covering the walls
Then it was time to start getting hyped up for the SEC Championship!
We went to the Brunson house in Zachary to watch the game
We also did our annual Christmas party while we were there
Connor was all partied out by the end
The next day the girls got to work cleaning Daddy’s truck
And Evie worked on souping up her tricycle
Ollie eventually got tired of all this outside fun…
That night it was time for another annual tradition, making Christmas cookies!
This year they both got to work with the cookie dough
Evie loved all this new responsibility
We baked them Sunday night, then on Monday night it was time to decorate them
They came out great!
Evie is starting to feel all Christmas-y
And the house is getting in the spirit as well
The following weekend we had a get-together for dinner
Baby jack is getting big
Caleb brought some goose breast to put in the smoker, it came out amazing.
The goose meat plus the ribs we smoked were a big hit
Evie and Ernie were more excited about the dessert though
That night was the Heisman award, the kids got to witness history and see Joe Burrow take home the trophy
The Louisiana Culinary Institute did this cool “Santa’s Kitchen” event this year
Ollie’s friends Charlotte, Mary and Bailey went too
Ollie got to decorate this reindeer cupcake
And this snowman
Santa even showed up!
Ollie had so much fun, especially when the head chef told her she had to taste the marshmallows they were using to decorate
The girls got these cool shirts from cousin Rachel in Lafayette, mija is a term of endearment in spanish that Rachel and I heard said a lot by my grandmother.
The girls loved their gifts, especially these pink sleeping bags
The next day Honey, Grandpa and Nemo came by to visit
Honey and Grandpa got the girls new vehicles to ride around outside
They had a lot of fun testing them out
They even rode together on each vehicle
The girls got to go to Ville Platte the next day. Evie felt right at home at the Coreil’s
The weekend after Christmas was the big DeVille party at Aunt Marie’s in Youngsville
They got to show off their musical talents on the piano. But we couldn’t stay long since LSU was playing Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl that day.
Another Christmas present they loved were these “real” grownup flashlights

Another visit this month from Luke, Ollie was so excited to see him and show off her new vehicles
Got to keep them filled with gas
Sharing some chicken nuggets and tots for dinner
For New Year’s Eve Evie got to go to Ville Platte and hang out with Isaac
She loves playing with her older cousins
Ollie got to go to the grownup New Year’s Eve party in Zachary at the Brunson’s
The bonfire wasn’t going well so a neighbor brought over a blowtorch
It was pretty chilly out there
The fire eventually got going a little bit, and the kids had a blast shooting off all the fireworks. It’s been fun 2019!
