On a rare kids-free night in New Orleans we got see AJR at The Fillmore.
Then the next weekend it was Roy’s birthday party
Spider-Man even showed up
He read the kids a story about how he got his powers
Evie was not interested however. And for weeks after the party she still continues to say that she is scared of Spider-Man, even at random times when nobody has mentioned him.
After the party the girls took a quick nap then it was on to the St. Aloysius Fair
The girls got to ride together in a car
And Ollie was able to ride this boat
Evie and Ollie both got to ride with Nanny on the ferris wheel
They played a fishing game and Ollie won a pink dolphin
Evie tried stabbing the fish with the pole, an interesting strategy
They even had a dragon roller coaster, that’s Ollie in the middle in the pink jacket
As you can see on the left side of the picture Ollie did not enjoy this ride, she was pretty terrified and screamed the whole way
Luckily Momma was there to console her after it finally stopped
After all that excitement she got to go sleep at her Nanny’s and help decorate her tree! (notice all the ornaments are “Ollie height”)
We’re getting some more mileage out of these overalls we got Evie for her Chucky costume
She looks like a little Tom Sawyer whitewashing the fence
We made Ollie a Frankensteins soccer goal to practice with
This month was Evie’s 2nd birthday, and we got her this picnic table
Daddy can’t take much of the credit though since Ollie did most of the work
She was very happy the next morning with her special birthday outfit
Then when she got home from daycare she got to open her gift
She was very pleased with her gift. And the pepperoni pizza.
Plus she got more gifts from Ollie, mermaids for the bathtub!
Then on Saturday morning Gran, Popee and her Nanny came to town for more birthday celebrating
She got a red velvet cake with Gran’s homemade cream cheese icing
It was a big hit!
After all that cake the girls were climbing all over Popee to show him their toys
Then while the girls stayed with Gran and Popee we got to go tailgate for the LSU/Arkansas game
GG got very excited to win at beer pong
Almost game time, the pig cooked in a cajun microwave was delicious
Grandpa got us these great seats, 6th row, thanks!!
Grandpa even came to visit that week, and took Ollie out for donuts while Evie was at her doctor appointment
Then she got to go with Grandpa back to Lafayette for a couple of nights
Then it was finally time for Thanksgiving! We had a great crowd come over to Baton Rouge that day.
Enjoying a nice stout while frying 2 turkeys and smoking 2 pork loins
Bradley and Logan were the first to dig in
Then the others came a runnin’
We had such a wonderful spread of food thanks to everybody who chipped in and brought something
And at one point poor old Daddy finally got to sit down and enjoy a plate, everything was awesome. Grandpa even did me the honor of letting me eat last to preserve the old Dad tradition.
The kids loved getting these bags of cool surprises Honey brought
And Evie got to celebrate her birthday some more, with a special birthday cupcake from The Cake Room in Lafayette (made by Kayla Trahan, winner of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars), not too shabby!
The kids definitely had a good time that day all playing together
And we had a great time too, thanks everybody for coming!
The weekend after Thanksgiving was the final home game of the year, vs. Texas A&M, so with our undefeated season on the line we decided to go tailgate and cheer on our Tigers
The girls got to go see Mike the Tiger, and were curious if any fish lived in his pond
Then they got to go run around in the quad
Evie was the talk of campus in her little Golden Girl costume that Nemo made
A nice passerby offered to take a family photo of us in the surprisingly empty quad
The girls and Conner really liked playing on the ramp of the tailgate trailer
Evie also checked out the inside of the trailer to make sure the Jucifer keg was hooked up properly
They got to have a little bit of a picnic
And they worked on their balance
The Tigers beat A&M to go 12-0 for the regular season, Geaux Tigers!!!
What a month!!! So much fun….Evie’s Birthday kept happening again and again. Lucky Girl❤️ Tailgate at LSU – Geaux Tigers! Great Family Thanksgiving and Dad gets to carry on the Family tradition of Dad serves last! Can’t wait for December❤️
