Easter 2019

The girls’ Easter pictures from daycare came out great

The first Easter get-together was at Nemo’s a couple of weeks before Easter. We were also celebrating Grandpa & Honey’s 40th wedding anniversary.

We had a big crawfish boil

And the girls got to hunt for some Easter eggs

The food was outstanding!

The next egg hunt was at daycare

Evie’s pal Ernie gave her some pointers on where to put the eggs she finds

For Easter weekend we went to Ville Platte, Gran and Popee hosted the big Good Friday celebration for the DeVille’s

This year Ollie and Evie got to participate in the egg pocking contest

Her first pocking match…

…Victory!!!!!!

Unfortunately Ollie was eliminated in the 2nd round though

Afterwards the girls got to have another Easter egg hunt

Then later Ollie got to hang out with the boys when Ian, Isaac, Austin & Ellis agreed to let her tag along

When she got back from playing GG helped her do some work on the “puter”

Popee’s birthday was that Monday so the girls decided to give him his card on Saturday morning

With no plans on Saturday we decided to make the short drive over to Alexandria to see the zoo

This was Evie’s first trip to a zoo, she loved the squirrel monkeys and even waved at them

We saw a couple of Nile Crocodiles

These birds were Scarlet Ibises

Of course they loved the pink flamingos

They got to drive a little jeep

And a big jeep

They got to go on a train ride

And eat hamburgers and corn dogs

Evie loved her first zoo experience!

While in Alexandria we decided to go visit the Huckleberry Brewing Company

They had lots of fun toys and games for the girls (and good beers for Daddy)

Ollie was supposed to get a special Soccer chocolate bunny on Sunday but the Easter bunny left it out in the hot sun too long 🙁

But no worries, the Easter Bunny came through with all this great stuff!

The girls loved looking through all the toys (and eating the candy)

Our happy little Evie loved watching Mommy show Ollie her new set of markers

The girls got to burn off some of that sugar energy outside

Then it was time for the Easter Sunday celebration for the Fontenot’s at Aunt Liz and Uncle Dexter’s

Ollie and Evie had lots of fun playing with Olivia

Evie was getting a little fussy but Drew calmed her down

She even let Lucas hold her for a while

Lucas and Dexter smoked this pork hindquarter in a cajun microwave, it was delicious

Another Egg pocking contest, we had a little better luck this time

Evie beat Popee to get to the 2nd round

Ollie won 4 in a row, beating Drew, Niki, Gwen and Olivia

The championship match came down to Ollie vs. Isaac

Isaac points to the crack in Ollie’s egg that crushed her hopes and dreams of becoming a champion that day

Very impressive for a 3-year old, we’ll be back at it next year! And a congratulations goes out to Isaac!

Back home after a long weekend the girls had Easter cards waiting for them in the mail from Honey and Grandpa. Thanks!!!

Another great Easter, we had so much fun!
