It was a tough month for everybody with the passing of Uncle Lawrence on Sunday, February 4th. We’re very lucky to have so many good memories with him over the years.
He was so excited to meet Ollie when she was born
And they became fast friends
Sometimes Lawrence would even come all the way to Baton Rouge to see us
And whenever we’d come in to go to Pizza Village Ollie was always interested in what Lawrence was up to
He didn’t always understand Ollie’s fashion choices
Lawrence and Norma looking very dapper at Carol’s wedding in Texarkana, 12/2/16
Christmas 2016
Lawrence having a little Christmas fun wearing somebody’s hat
Another family favorite, Prejean’s
Lawrence was often the most qualified “project supervisor”
Lawrence and Norma were nice enough to host a lot of family holidays, this was Easter 2017
And Lawrence and Norma were also nice enough to drive for a trip to Houston in May, 2017
We had some fun stops along the way
Relaxing at the dinner table after arriving in Houston
We even got Lawrence to go to a backyard party while we were there
But he was probably more comfortable taking our money in Bourré later that weekend
Ollie loved to get Lawrence to walk around the pool with her
And when he was relaxing with his foot on an ice chest Ollie tried her best to get a foot up there to copy him
We also loved spending time with Lawrence at Cafe Joie de Vivre in Breaux Bridge where his granddaughter Gabrielle often sang and played guitar
Ollie would run right over to Lawrence to sit with him
We even got to meet some of Lawrence’s family on one visit
Ollie would give Lawrence the pouty face to get some of his breakfast
Lawrence was very excited to meet Ollie’s little sister Evelyn when she was born in November, 2017.
And we got to have one last Christmas with Lawrence that year, it was such a good time with so many grandkids being there, Gabrielle, Sophia, Ollie, Evie and Bradley.
It broke our hearts to lose Uncle Lawrence but we’re so grateful for all of the happy times we shared with him over the years. So thankful he got to meet Evelyn and that he and Ollie got to spend so much time together. He did so much for everybody whether it was fixing things or handling the crawfish boils. He was one of a kind and we’ll miss him, love you Uncle Lawrence.
What a beautiful tribute to Honor Uncle Lawrence. He is already being missed by many and Ollie did have a special attraction to him.
