I finally got to go to my first parade! The Krewe of Mutts parade in downtown Baton Rouge.
I caught my first bead!
First time trying a marranito, a mexican gingerbread cookie.
Friday night before Mardi Gras and I was supposed to meet Nanny Niki at the Southdowns parade, but I had a fever and an ear infection so I had to stay home.
You would never know I was sick from looking at me though, I made the best of it.
Saturday we were supposed to meet Honey and Grandpa in Lafayette for a couple of parades, but since I had a fever the day before we played it safe and stayed home to hang out on the back patio again.
Mommy read me some books that afternoon and I was starting to feel better
It got a little chilly Saturday night, but the back patio party continued
This is my laundry room that I’ve taken over
Sunday we had another fun day outside, no parades but still had a good time
On Monday since Daddy had to work me and Mommy stopped by Dr. Calandro’s for a quick antibiotic shot then took a road trip to Ville Platte.
GG got me this awesome tent and I had a blast playing in it with Isaac
And I got to play iPad games with Austin and Ian
But the best part was when Popee would read me stories
Then finally it was Mardi Gras day! I was only 2 days old for last Mardi Gras, and I was sick this year, so I’ll have to wait for next year to really get into the carnival spirit.
This was still a pretty great day since my friend Luke from daycare came by to play with me
I did get a little Mardi Gras surprise that night, Mr. Derek from across the street gave me a coconut from the New Orleans Zulu parade
Can’t wait for next February!
Ollie, looks like you had a lot of things going on in February even though you were sick for a few days! We’ll try again next year to make a few Mardi Gras parades. I’m pretty sure you will enjoy them a lot❤️
